MAKASSAR, SDICTV.ID – The Chairwoman of the Batu Bara Regional National Crafts Council (Dekranasda), Mrs. Henny Heridawaty Baharuddin, accompanied by the Vice Chairwoman, Mrs. Leli Syafrizal, attended the grand celebration of the 46th Anniversary of the National Crafts Council (Dekranas) held at Trans Studio Mall (TSM), Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Saturday (July 11, 2026).

Their participation reflects the Batu Bara Regency Government's strong commitment to advancing the handicraft industry, empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and preserving local cultural products to enhance their competitiveness in both national and international markets.

The 46th Anniversary celebration brought together representatives of Regional National Crafts Councils (Dekranasda) from across Indonesia. The event featured a large-scale exhibition with more than 300 exhibition booths, showcasing outstanding handicraft products created by artisans and MSMEs from various regions. The exhibition displayed a wide range of products, including traditional silk weaving, Luwu Timur's signature woven handbags, and palm-leaf handicrafts that have gained national recognition.

During the event, Bank Indonesia and Dekranas signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation in developing Indonesia's handicraft sector through strategic programs designed to improve the competitiveness of local craft products.

The official opening ceremony was led by the Chairperson of the National Crafts Council (Dekranas), symbolized by the traditional Pajjajari drum performance.

In her remarks, Selvi expressed appreciation for the rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality of the people of South Sulawesi, highlighting the region's unique charm for participants from across the country.

The celebration was further enlivened by cultural performances, the traditional Paraga attraction, and a culinary festival featuring a diverse selection of authentic dishes from 24 regencies and cities throughout South Sulawesi.

Following the opening ceremony, Mrs. Henny Heridawaty Baharuddin and fellow participants toured the exhibition booths to observe firsthand the outstanding handicraft products displayed by artisans from various provinces across Indonesia.

Mrs. Henny emphasized that Batu Bara's participation in the national event is expected to strengthen interregional cooperation, encourage the exchange of ideas and innovation, and expand promotional opportunities for local MSME products.

"We hope that the 46th Anniversary of Dekranas will serve as a momentum to improve the quality, innovation, and competitiveness of local handicraft products, enabling them to contribute significantly to regional economic growth and community welfare," said Mrs. Henny Heridawaty Baharuddin.
