Samosir Regency Supports International Investment to Accelerate the Development of the Herbal and Horticultural Science and Technology Park (TSTH2)
SAMOSIR, SDICTV.ID – The Samosir Regency Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international investment partnerships to accelerate the development of the Herbal and Horticultural Science and Technology Park (TSTH2) located in Pollung District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency, North Sumatra.
The commitment was demonstrated through the attendance of Samosir Vice Regent Ariston Tua Sidauruk during the official visit of the Chairman of Indonesia's National Economic Council (DEN), Retired General Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, together with the Chairman of Temasek Holdings, H.E. Mr. Teo Chee Hean, on Friday (July 10, 2026).
The visit formed part of a strategic initiative to strengthen cooperation with international investment partners in accelerating the development of TSTH2 as a leading center for research, innovation, and downstream processing of herbal and horticultural commodities. The project is expected to stimulate sustainable economic growth throughout the Lake Toba region.
Also attending the event were North Sumatra Vice Governor Surya, the Regent of Humbang Hasundutan, the Vice Regent of Toba, representatives from various regional governments, and several officials from the Samosir Regency Government.
Vice Regent Ariston Tua Sidauruk stated that the National Economic Council's commitment to attracting international investors represents an important strategic step toward enhancing the competitiveness of the Lake Toba region through research-based agricultural and technological development.
"The development of TSTH2 presents a tremendous opportunity for the Lake Toba region. We highly appreciate the efforts of the National Economic Council in bringing international investors to support this project. We hope this collaboration will soon be realized, creating stronger economic growth, improving the agricultural sector, and enhancing the welfare of communities throughout the Lake Toba region, including Samosir," Ariston said.
He further emphasized that strong collaboration between the central government, regional governments, and international investors will be essential in transforming TSTH2 into a world-class center for research and innovation while delivering sustainable economic benefits to communities across the Lake Toba area.
The Samosir Regency Government expressed its optimism that the project will become a catalyst for investment, innovation, and inclusive economic development, strengthening the Lake Toba region as one of Indonesia's strategic growth areas.
