BATU BARA, SDICTV.ID – The strong partnership between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Batu Bara Regency Government was once again demonstrated through the official implementation of the 129th TNI Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) Program for Fiscal Year 2026 in Kapal Merah Village, Nibung Hangus District.
Following the official opening ceremony, Batu Bara Regent H. Baharuddin Siagian, S.H., M.Si., together with Commander of Military Resort Command (Danrem) 022/Pantai Timur Colonel Inf. Sandi Kamidianto, S.I.P., M.I.P., accompanied by Commander of Kodim 0208/Asahan Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Edy Syahputra, S.H., M.I.P., and members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a retaining wall, marking the commencement of the physical development phase of TMMD 129 on Wednesday (July 15, 2026).
The retaining wall project represents one of the primary infrastructure targets of this year's TMMD program. It is designed to strengthen soil stability, prevent erosion, and provide long-term protection for surrounding areas while supporting sustainable rural infrastructure development.
The delegation then continued with a symbolic tree-planting ceremony as part of the TMMD 129 environmental conservation initiative. The activity reflects a shared commitment to preserving the environment and improving the ecological quality of Kapal Merah Village.
A total of 1,000 trees are scheduled to be planted throughout the TMMD project area. This greening initiative highlights the collaborative commitment of the TNI, the Batu Bara Regency Government, and local communities to creating a greener, healthier, and more sustainable environment for future generations.
Regent H. Baharuddin Siagian expressed his appreciation for the dedication of the Indonesian Army, particularly Kodim 0208/Asahan and Korem 022/Pantai Timur, for their continuous partnership with the regional government in accelerating rural development.
He emphasized that TMMD is not solely focused on infrastructure development but also strengthens the spirit of mutual cooperation, fosters community solidarity, and encourages greater environmental awareness among residents.
Meanwhile, Colonel Inf. Sandi Kamidianto, Commander of Korem 022/Pantai Timur, stated that TMMD represents the tangible unity between the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the people. By integrating infrastructure development with environmental conservation, the program is expected to deliver long-term benefits while promoting equitable development across rural areas of Batu Bara Regency.
The implementation of TMMD 129 in Kapal Merah Village reflects the shared commitment of the TNI, the Batu Bara Regency Government, and the local community to building resilient, sustainable, and environmentally responsible villages, ultimately contributing to a more prosperous and competitive Batu Bara Regency.
